Last, but not least, there is Parc Fermé. Self explanatory.

After going through technical scrutineering/s, the vehicles wait in numerical order till they depart. The order of the vehicles this year was quite different from last year´s.

The Village People (II) - Technical Scrutineering

The technical scrutineering area is one of the three main areas of the Dakar Village. It is as the name implies, where all the technical verifications take place before releasing the vehicle to the Parc Fermé.

The Village People (I) - Showcase

The 'Dakar Village' took place from Dec 29th, 2009 till January 1st, 2010 in the La Rural complex in Buenos Aires. The 'Village' is not only the place where technical scrutineering takes place but it is also a pre-race showcase with different activities and entertainment for fans and visitors.

I observed a considerable increase in sponsors and exhibitors this year (compared to the 2009 Dakar) with the exhibition area fully occupied, complete with tents and stands from the moRead More...

Saturday, jan. 16 12.18 p.m. Christophe has just arrived in Bolivar completing the Dakar Argentina Chile 2010!

Two weeks. It seems like years ago already!

This morning I decided to wear the same t-shirt I wore at the Colón bivouac and depart two weeks ago, for good luck. I guess it worked! (lol)

Rainy morning here in Buenos Aires, lovely temperature though.

Hello from Buenos Aires! I´m back from the Colón bivouac. I actually arrived yesterday (01-02) and I was supposed to post "yesterday" but I was so tired I fell asleep. A wonderful experience and a lovely night, not cold at all. Cheers! Lorraine.
